Litter Picking

Our walks and talks in search of wildlife have raised awareness in the community about the rubbish and pollution on our beaches, and as part of these events, folk have helped by beach cleaning. An added element of fun included was to see who could lug the heaviest and most awkward items of the beach. The winner was a rusted metal pipe about 15kg!

So far 78kg of litter and the 15kg pipe have been removed from the beaches of Loch Hourn and the Sound of Sleat by our project, and beach cleaning continues very regularly in Glenelg bay too.
